These small diagonal holes scrape hard butter into threads that can be easily spread and evenly distributed. The serrated blade can be used to remove burnt bits. The handle and blade are moulded as one piece, not welded, so they are extra durable.
To scrape, hold the unit almost parallel to the butter, and slide from left to right.
