It also has a unique depth to its steel spiral - meaning that our whisk isn’t flattened out like most dough hooks on the market. Instead, the uncommon depth of our whisk’s stainless steel spirals (the slight space in between the metal bits) makes for an exceptionally graceful stir. The depth of the steel spirals quickly homogenises mixtures without over-mixing, which means you can avoid unwanted gluten development \/ an overly tough final product. As a bonus, its depth means there are no directly overlapping rings which also makes it very easy to clean.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll FloatyGoat wooden utensils are designed by me and lovingly handmade here in Yorkshire by just 2 hands: my business partner Zach at The Retuned Wood Company. This is an all important piece of equipment for the serious baker.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBannetons are often made with cane rattan, a climbing palm made from tropical rainforests and not ideal for environmental reasons. Our bannetons are made using compressed wood fibre or pulp from managed spruce in Germany and create much less negative environmental impact.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis 500g size is ideal for batards and the long smooth shape of this banneton is carefully engineered to help you create the perfect bread crust, allowing your creativity to come out while maintaining consistent quality.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor best results, upon receiving your new banneton, and before your first bake, preheat your oven to 170C and turn it *off* after 3 minutes.
